These are photos that I took with my Point & Shoot Canon, from age 9-12. When I first took a look, I hated how grainy, out of focus, and over-exposed they came out to be. I believed that a conventionally "good" photo was utterly crisp and in focus with all the correct ISO settings, etc. So, deeming these as "bad", I left them to be forgotten in my MS card. It wasn't until ten years later I would uncover old photos upon collecting back my old cameras, and I found that I resonated with the composition and the dream-like qualities these photos had.
It is often with art that we tend to lose ourselves in perfectionism and we end up forgetting why we began our craft in the first place. There was a focus in purchasing the best gear, knowing all the fancy softwares and terminology and such. There was an objectification in what I perceived to be best, and not what I truly felt or wanted. Here, I was only a child just having fun with her camera and this was the way I saw the world at the time. I find that to be a very pure process, and that is what I would like to always remember.
More to come soon, thanks for breezing through my work. I'm open and available for new projects!
